Cleaning

• Clean it rarely. Air it out after each wear; blot small marks with a clean, dry cloth.
• For a full clean, hand wash separately in cold water with a mild, pH-neutral detergent — or use a dry-cleaner, telling them the border is embellished and asking them to test a hidden corner first.
• Do not bleach.
• Do not soak, wring or twist.
• Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

Drying & Storage

• Dry flat in the shade, away from direct sunlight; do not hang while wet.
• Store folded in a breathable cotton or muslin bag; avoid plastic covers.
• Refold occasionally to prevent permanent creases.

Reshaping & Creases

• The crushed, crinkled texture is meant to look that way — avoid pressing it flat.
• To release creases, steam gently with a handheld steamer held at a distance, working from the reverse — with the saree laid flat or loosely gathered, never hanging.
• If you must iron, use the lowest synthetic setting on the reverse, through a thin cotton or muslin cloth, with light pressure — on the plain body only.
• Keep the iron and direct steam away from the pearl, mirror, stone and sequin work — heat can melt, curl or loosen embellishment and dull the shimmer.
